A Nigeria where extreme poverty is extinct.
And when that day comes, PFF will still be a relevant humanitarian force as our focus will be directed at other urgent matters that relate to the improvement of the quality of life of anyone who inhabits the boundaries of this beautiful country called Nigeria. For all those who call this place home, this is why we are optimistic and will not abandon hope.
Yes, there is corruption, but there is also innovation.
Lagos is cramped and stressful, yet you won’t find a more spirited crowd anywhere else in the world.
For almost half its population, the future looks bleak, but the future is being shaped in the minds and with the energy of the more than 50 million youths, who did not come to Lagos ”to count bridge”, and others everywhere else in the country, who never say die.
The life expectancy at birth may be pegged at 49, but the 74-year-old grandfather will applaud his granddaughter, who is not held back by self-defeating gender discriminating policies, as she takes on the world on her own terms, and becomes a leader in her field.
We would not always point the fingers of our missed changes at the government, the environment, cultural institutions – everything but ourselves. This time, we turn the fingers backward.
