Humanitarian Care Program at Shinning Star Orphanage

Category: News | Date: December 22, 2019

As part of Prince Fadipe Foundation intervention activities, PFF started working with Shining Start Orphanage Home in Abuja, Nigeria. The Orphanage Home is located in Lugbe, one of the suburbs of the Federal Capital Territory and currently accommodates over 35 orphans under the guardianship of Mrs. Hannah Emeh.

During the 2019 Christmas season, PFF conducted a pilot intervention focused on Food & Nutrition, one of the 6+1 core areas in OVC Care. PFF mobilized friends to deliver groceries to these children in celebration of Christmas during the festive period in 2019. A prayer session was performed by one of the Board of Trustee (Mrs. Remilekun Fadipe) with the children.

It forms a part of the PFF Humanitarian Care Program. Children made vulnerable by the death of one or both parents or the lack of care and support by any parent or guardian because of a diverse mix of health, economic of social factors need all the help they can get. At PFF, we are committed to intervening in ameliorating the circumstances of such children. Our strategy is to work with both institionalized and non-institutionalized OVCs whereby we will delivered targeted support using the 6+1 Core Programe Area Framework.
