Ajuwaya Fashionpreneurship Project

Overview

The Fashionpreneurship Project is classified under our Young Adult Work-skills Support Programme (YAWSSP), where PFF is committed to supporting young adults – mostly made up of young school leavers and early career professional aged 20 – 35 years – to forge a sustainable path to earning a livelihood and thus turning them into model citizens. This programme intends to equip formally educated young adults with competitive skills that will enhance their ability to create economic value to better their lives.

Among various options, to launch the YAWSSP, the foundation’s programme design team has created a Fashion Industry Value Chain intervention tagged “Ajuwaya Fashionpreneurship Project”. The Foundation has identified the platform of Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos Chapter as one that is strategically positioned to allow us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the fresh graduates of the Nigerian higher citadel of learning.

The goal of the Ajuwaya Fashionpreneurship Project is to:

  • Identify and empower fashion enthusiasts who wishes to either turn passion-to-profession or take this as a nominal source of income as they forge ahead in life.
  • Train to make them an influencer by giving them the opportunity to mentor other youths to embrace entrepreneurship through experiences and testimonies.
  • Support promising trainees with startup facilities to ensure seamless market entry and business commencement.

The proposed training program will be a hybrid system that will combine both beginner and intermediate candidates. It is provisionally designed for 3months (2-days per week for intermediate candidates and 3 days for candidates deemed to be beginners), with course outline for both beginner and intermediate candidates established between PFF and concerned partner(s).

The cost of the entire training programme will be borne by Prince Fadipe Foundation at no cost to the candidates and NYSC Lagos chapter. An application form can be found on our website (link below). The Foundation’s selection committee will review the applications and select the ideal candidates. The names of the candidates will be sent across to NYSC for notification purposes prior to the informing the candidates through NYSC channel and also published on all our social media handles and our website.
